Azalea Resident Arrested for Hidden Cameras and Illegal Firearm Suppressor

Stephen Hughes, a 48-year-old Azalea resident, faces multiple charges after authorities discovered hidden cameras secretly placed inside a private residence, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported.
The investigation began on Tuesday, January 14, when law enforcement responded to a report of concealed surveillance devices at a home in the 14000 block of Upper Cow Creek Road. According to the Sheriff's Office, the cameras were strategically placed in private areas of the home without the residents' knowledge or consent.
Douglas County Sheriff's detectives took charge of the case the following day, leading to Hughes' arrest on two counts of Invasion of Privacy. During the execution of search warrants, investigators uncovered several additional hidden cameras throughout the residence. Detectives also discovered an illegal firearm suppressor in Hughes' possession, adding weapons charges to his offenses.
Hughes now faces charges for both the privacy violations and unlawful possession of a firearm suppressor.
