Detectives Investigate Apparent Homicide-Suicide in Yoncalla

YONCALLA, Ore. — Authorities are investigating an apparent homicide-suicide that occurred in Yoncalla on Friday evening, January 31, 2025. The incident unfolded after a business contacted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office to request a welfare check on an employee who had failed to report to work.
At approximately 10:20 p.m., deputies responded to a residence located in the 100-block of Williams Road. Upon arrival, an officer observed two individuals unresponsive inside the home and forced entry to gain access. Both adults were found deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives and the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation.
