COUNTY GOVERNMENT OFFICES TO CLOSE FOR PRESIDENTS’ DAY
KQEN News Radio

Douglas County Commissioners Tim Freeman, Tom Kress and Chris Boice would like to remind citizens that county government offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Presidents’ Day.
A county release said that includes the courthouse, Justice Building, courthouse annex in Reedsport, landfill and transfer stations, fairgrounds and all external government offices.
Both the Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History in Roseburg and the Umpqua River Lighthouse Museum in Winchester Bay will be open on Monday for normal business hours.
All county operated parks, campgrounds, and boat ramps will continue to be open and accessible to the public. Salmon Harbor Marina and the Winchester Bay RV Park will be open as well.
Even though the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office lobby entrance will be closed, deputies, 911 communications staff and other DCSO staff will continue to provide law enforcement and emergency assistance to residents. Those with an emergency can still call 911. To reach dispatch for a non-emergency situation, call 440-4471.

DEL TACO HOPES TO OPEN NEW STORE IN APRIL
KQEN News Radio

Del Taco is hoping to open its new store around the beginning of April.
The Roseburg location on Northwest Stewart Parkway was destroyed in a fire in July of 2022. Last October, Cactus Enterprises Director of Operations Eric Marsh said he was excited to get back to business soon. Cactus Enterprises also operates 6 other Del Taco stores in Oregon: Salem, Albany, two in Medford, Klamath Falls and Bend.
Marsh told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that things are progressing with the new building. Marsh said the stucco on the outside has been delayed a little by the weather but should be going on soon. Interior work is moving along pretty well, according to Marsh. He hopes to get the keys from the contactor by the middle of March. Marsh said the new store will have a very updated look.
Marsh said a restaurant manager was hired a few weeks ago and is currently training in Albany. Interviews for an assistant manager and shift managers are underway. Around 50 employees are expected to be hired for the new store. People who are interested can apply at: www.deltaco.com.
CON-VEY EXPANDS OPERATIONS WITH NEW FACILITY NEAR ROSEBURG
KQEN News Radio

Con-Vey has announced the expansion of its operations with the acquisition of approximately 15 additional acres, including 150,000 square feet of manufacturing space. A company release said strategically located with highway and freeway access, this new facility strengthens Con-Vey’s commitment to long-term growth in Roseburg.
Con-Vey CEO & President Dave Larecy said, “We’re excited about the opportunity that this acquisition gives us for growth and diversification”. Larecy said, “This expansion allows us to continue building on our legacy of innovation while increasing our manufacturing capacity”.
The facility, formerly occupied by Orenco Composites, was officially acquired in January. The release said the company appreciates the collaboration with the previous owners to ensure a seamless transition. Located just 6.3 miles from Con-Vey’s headquarters near downtown Roseburg, this space will provide the company with increased flexibility and operational capacity.
Over the coming months, Con-Vey will begin relocating select personnel into the office and manufacturing spaces, ramping up operations to accommodate increased demand. Initially, the facility will focus on the assembly and testing of automated equipment, with plans to further expand manufacturing capacities in the future.
As part of this expansion, Con-Vey is planning to grow its workforce by hiring additional employees at the new facility. The release said this investment underscores the company’s dedication to strengthening its presence in Roseburg and supporting the local economy.
