HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES THROUGH MONDAY EVENING
KQEN News Radio

A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8:00 p.m. Monday for much of southern Oregon.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service in Medford said high temperatures of 95 to 102 degrees are expected.
The Advisory area includes central Douglas County, eastern Josephine and Curry counties and Jackson County. It applies to Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford and surrounding areas.
Forecasters said hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses. The area rivers remain cold and dangerous due to ongoing mountain snowmelt. Residents should practice cold weather safety if seeking relief from hot temperatures in area waterways.
Forecasters said people should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shade or aid conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. In case of heat stroke, call 911.

7ROBOTICS WINS NATIONAL AWARD FOR PALLET BUILDING
KQEN News Radio

7robotics, a provider of advanced robotic automation solutions, has won a national award for a robotic pallet building system.
A company release said they were given the Most Innovative Solution award at the 2024 ABB Robotics Value Provider Awards in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Presented on May 15th, during ABB’s Americas Value Provider Conference, the award honors creative, high impact applications of ABB robotics technology. Selected from a competitive field of partners across North and South America, 7robotics was recognized for its Robotic Pallet Building System, developed in collaboration with Canopy Lumber Products, a pallet supplier out of Iowa.
The system reimagines pallet manufacturing by automating manual tasks like nailing and stacking – enhancing safety, increasing throughput, and supporting flexible, scalable production.
The release said capable of driving up to 12,000 nails per day, the system has delivered measurable results and helped Canopy Lumber Products reduce manual handling, improve worker safety and boost overall efficiency.
7robotics President Joey Koenig said, “Our goal with this system was to solve real challenges for our customer – namely, safety risks, and inconsistent throughput”. Koenig said, “We know robotic systems will play a bigger role in flexible manufacturing, and we’re lucky to work with an innovative customer like Canopy”. Koenig said, “To be recognized by ABB in such a strong pool of integrators is incredibly humbling”.
7robotics was established in 2019 and is based in Roseburg. For more information about the company, go to: www.7robotics.com
