Oregon SNAP Benefits Fully Restored After Federal Court Ruling
Oregonians can now access their full November SNAP benefits after a federal court ordered the Trump Administration to release withheld funds. The Oregon Department of Human Services confirmed payments are restored, following Gov. Tina Kotek’s declaration of a hunger emergency.
SALEM, Ore. — All Oregonians receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits now have access to their full November payments, following a federal court decision ordering the Trump Administration to release withheld funds.
The ruling affects more than 750,000 people statewide. The Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) confirmed that benefits would be available on recipients’ EBT cards by Friday morning.
Governor Tina Kotek condemned the initial delay in distributing the funds, calling it “cruel and unlawful.” She thanked the courts and state teams for ensuring residents quickly received the assistance they depend on.
“Oregonians shouldn’t have to wait for a court order to get the help they qualify for and need,” Kotek said.
ODHS worked closely with its EBT processing partner to reinstate payments, making Oregon one of the first states to act on the federal decision. The update follows Kotek’s earlier declaration of a hunger emergency, which dedicated $5 million to the Oregon Food Bank and $1 million to Tribal governments for immediate relief efforts.
SNAP participants are encouraged to check their EBT balances through official ODHS channels and stay updated through agency announcements.
