Chinese Xiang Cuisine Announces Closure After Five Years of Serving Douglas County

ROSEBURG, Ore. — After five years of sharing fresh, handcrafted Chinese cuisine with the community, the Chinese Xiang Cuisine food truck will be serving its final meals at the end of November. Sami and David, the owners, announced they will be ending their weekly service and offering a warm farewell to their longtime hosts at Two Shy Brewing and Lookingglass Brewery.

They expressed deep gratitude to the thousands of customers who visited regularly over the years, including many who stopped by every week.
"We are grateful for the meals, the memories, the laughs, and the chance to cook for this community," they shared.

Chef Sami built the business from the ground up and put her skill and dedication into every dish. She always honored their motto, "Taste the Fresh." David, who handled service at the window, said the conversations and friendships formed with customers were the most rewarding part of the work. Together, they estimate they served more than 23,000 meals since they opened in April 2020.

They shared special thanks to Danielle and Lyle at Two Shy Brewing for their support, warmth, and welcoming customers, and to Lydia and Mark at Lookingglass Brewery for giving them a Wednesday home.

Chinese Xiang Cuisine also thanked the many local venues that hosted them over the years, including Abacela Winery, Trella Vineyards, Umpqua Valley Farmers Market, The Wine Destination, Saving Grace Humane Society, Old 99 Brewing, Mercy Hospital, several local vineyards, and community events such as Music on the Half Shell and the Winston Area Independence Day celebration.

They also took time to recognize dozens of their most loyal customers by name, many of whom supported them through the pandemic and became part of their weekly routine. Some visited twice a week.

Sami and David made it clear they are not leaving Roseburg.
"This is home. We love the area and the people here."

Business for sale

Chinese Xiang Cuisine is now considering selling the entire business. This includes the website, Facebook page, recipes, ingredient sourcing guidance, prep and cooking training, and the fully maintained, inspection-ready food truck. They are also open to selling the food truck by itself.
