DFPA Declares Start of 2025 Fire Season for Douglas District

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — The Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) has announced that fire season for the Douglas District will officially begin on Friday, June 6, 2025.

With the declaration of fire season, public use restrictions will go into effect. The current public use restriction level is set to Moderate and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) is Level I.

The declaration applies to all private, county, state, and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District, as well as public lands managed by the Roseburg District BLM. The restrictions aim to reduce the risk of wildfires as summer conditions dry out vegetation across the region.

DFPA officials urge the public and industrial operators to stay informed and follow all regulations, which include limits on outdoor burning, equipment use, and other fire-prone activities. These rules are part of the district’s effort to prevent human-caused fires during the high-risk season.

As fire danger increases, restrictions may be updated. Residents are encouraged to check DFPA’s website or social media channels for the most current information.
