DFPA Responds to 45-Acre Doe Hollow Fire Near Days Creek
Fire crews responded to the 45-acre Doe Hollow Fire near Days Creek on May 22. DFPA engines, a dozer, and contract crews are working the scene. The cause remains under investigation. Official mapping and full containment efforts are ongoing.

On the evening of May 22, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Douglas Forest Protective Association (DFPA) responded to the Doe Hollow Fire, located off Days Creek Road in southern Douglas County.
Initial response efforts included engines, a water tender, and a bulldozer, with many of those resources remaining on scene through the night to monitor and contain the fire.
As of this morning, the fire is estimated at approximately 45 acres. An official acreage will be determined following more detailed mapping during today’s operations.
Crews working the fire today include DFPA engines with firefighters, a DFPA-operated dozer, and two 20-person firefighting crews contracted from a local private company.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. DFPA fire investigators began their work during the initial attack phase and are continuing to assess the scene today.
