Roseburg Fire Department to Issue Residential Burn Permits in October

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The City of Roseburg Fire Department will begin issuing residential burn permits on October 1, 2025, with permits available through October 31, 2025.
Permit Details
- Permits are valid for seven days.
- Cost: $75.00.
- Burning is restricted to residential yard waste only.
Prohibited items include: standing berry vines, paper, wood, plastics, tires, standing grass, weeds, construction materials, and debris from lot clearing. Burning is not permitted on vacant lots or property owned by someone else.
Safety Requirements
- Fires must be attended at all times by a competent adult.
- All fires must be extinguished before dark.
- Tools for controlling or extinguishing the fire must be kept on site whenever burning occurs.
- Burn barrels are not allowed within city limits.
Residents are reminded that burning trash or burning without a permit could result in fines or legal action. Even with a permit, those who fail to exercise caution may be held liable if a fire escapes their control, including potential fines, restitution, or further legal consequences.
Alternatives to Burning
