ROSEBURG, Ore. — Umpqua Community College women’s basketball head coach Dave Stricklin reached a major career milestone on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, recording the 1,000th win of his junior college coaching career as the Riverhawks defeated Portland Community College 89 to 60.

The win came during Stricklin’s 31st season leading the Riverhawks and his 39th year as a collegiate head coach.

“This milestone is about the players, the assistant coaches, and the people who have believed in what we do here at Umpqua,” Stricklin said in a statement. “I’ve been incredibly fortunate to coach young women who are committed to excellence on and off the court.”
