Wildlife Safari is inviting local residents to enjoy the park for free during Douglas County Appreciation Days, happening Sunday and Monday, January 18 and 19.

During the two-day event, Douglas County residents will receive free drive-through admission with a valid ID.

In addition to free admission, Wildlife Safari will offer several discounts and specials for local visitors, including:

  • Buy one, get one 50% off encounters
  • Buy one membership, get a free encounter certificate
  • Buy one, get one 50% off plush animals
  • 10% off retail items
  • 10% off restaurant purchases

Wildlife Safari will also host keeper chats throughout both days, giving visitors a chance to learn more about animals and ask questions directly to staff.

Wildlife Safari Marketing Director Ali Shaver said the event is a way to thank local residents for supporting the park year-round.

Shaver said Wildlife Safari’s busiest season is in the summer, but local visitors help keep the park going during the slower months as well.

Keeper chats and activities

Shaver said keeper chats will be offered throughout the day, including talks and demonstrations such as flamingos, a dome show, a red panda keeper talk, and cougar training.

Winter hours

Wildlife Safari winter hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
