Roseburg Community Pushes Back Against Proposed OSAA Conference Realignment
OSAA is proposing to place Roseburg High School in a four school 6A conference through 2030, leaving local athletes with fewer games, more travel and reduced opportunities. Districts are urging OSAA to delay the December 15 vote to consider fairer options.
Two Arrested During Search Warrant Operation in Glendale, Suspect Still Sought
Deputies executed a search warrant in Glendale after a domestic disturbance involving Corey Lange, who is prohibited from having firearms. Lange was not found, but two people with outstanding warrants were arrested. Anyone with information on Lange is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
One Killed in Three Vehicle Crash on Highway 38 Near Scottsburg
A three vehicle crash on Highway 38 near milepost 22 left one person dead Tuesday evening. OSP says an eastbound Buick Enclave crossed into the westbound lane and hit a Freightliner before being struck by another car. The Enclave’s driver died at the scene. One person had minor injuries.
SNAP Work Requirements Now Apply Statewide in Oregon Starting December 2025
Oregon is now applying SNAP work rules statewide after federal waivers ended. Adults ages 18 to 64 without children under 14 may need to meet 80 hour monthly work requirements unless exempt. About 37,000 people are affected. ODHS urges anyone unsure about the rules to contact them.
Oregon DMV Announces Major Changes to SR-22 and Uninsured Accident Rules Beginning January 2026
Oregon DMV is implementing major changes on January 1, 2026. SR-22 requirements for driving uninsured will drop from three years to one year, mandatory suspensions for uninsured accidents will end, and new insurer documentation rules will apply for proving coverage.
First Shipment of Wreaths Arrives for the John Pierson Memorial Wreaths Across America Event - Event on Saturday
The first shipment of wreaths for the John Pierson Memorial Wreaths Across America Event has arrived in Douglas County. Thanks to Timber Country Coca-Cola and local partners, all 7,000 wreaths will be delivered to Roseburg National Cemetery for this year’s ceremony honoring local veterans.
