DFPA Declares Start of 2025 Fire Season for Douglas District
Fire season for the Douglas District begins Friday, June 6, 2025 at 12:01 AM. DFPA has set public use restrictions to Moderate and IFPL to Level I. The declaration applies to all private, state, federal, and BIA lands in the district. Fire safety rules are now in effect to help prevent wildfires.

Attic Fire Displaces Family in Green on Monday Afternoon
A fire in the attic of a Green home Monday displaced several adults, children, and pets. Crews from CDF&R and partner agencies contained the fire in 20 minutes. The likely cause was a discarded cigarette. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
