Early Morning Lightning Storm Sparks Multiple Fires in Douglas County
DFPA crews are responding after 48 lightning strikes hit Douglas County early Sept. 5. Two fires have been confirmed: the 1.5-acre Fate Creek Fire near Myrtle Creek and a small tree strike on Deadman Creek Road. No homes are threatened as firefighters continue aggressive initial attack.

Umpqua National Forest Issues Emergency Closure for Emigrant Fire
Umpqua NF has issued an emergency closure for the Emigrant Fire, effective Sept. 4–Nov. 25. Several trails, campgrounds & roads are closed, while others remain open. Fire danger is HIGH with PURs & IFPL at Level 2. Full details: fs.usda.gov/r06/umpqua/alerts
DFPA Crews Respond to Lightning Strikes Across Douglas County
DFPA crews are responding after 76 lightning strikes hit Douglas County Sept. 3. Two small fires were contained near Umpqua and Roseburg. Aerial and ground patrols continue today, with 36 cameras scanning for smoke. Fire danger remains HIGH. More updates coming, incl. Dad’s Creek Fire.
Road Work Brings Delays to Stewart Parkway in Roseburg
