Three Oregon Forest Operators Named Regional Operators of the Year
Three Oregon forest operators have been named Operators of the Year for exemplary stewardship and compliance with the Forest Practices Act. Honorees from Southwest, Eastern, and Northwest Oregon will be recognized by the Board of Forestry in January.
Roseburg Forest Products Shuts Down Weed, California Veneer Plant
Roseburg Forest Products has closed its Weed, Calif., veneer plant, shifting production to Oregon mills as part of a broader restructuring. About 140 employees will receive transition support, and the company says it remains committed to investing in the Weed community.

Domino’s in Winston raised over $1,000 and collected canned goods for the Winston–Dillard Food Bank during a community meet-the-owner event, where new franchise owner Angelique Martinez thanked locals for their generosity and support.

Douglas County Man Sentenced to 14 Years in Federal Prison for Drug Trafficking and Firearms Crimes
A Douglas County man was sentenced to 168 months in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl and methamphetamine and illegally possessing firearms. DINT noted the sentencing concludes a prior investigation in which the suspect attempted to flee detectives.
Winston-Dillard Festival Association Plants New Community Christmas Tree at Civic Wayside Park
A new 15 foot Douglas fir has been planted at Civic Wayside Park to serve as Winston’s permanent community Christmas tree. Installed with help from Winston Public Works and Wildwood Nursery, it will be used for future tree lighting ceremonies starting December 6.
