Curtin Drug Bust Leads to Two Arrests, Multiple Seizures
Curtin drug bust nets 30 marijuana plants, meth, and firearms. Two men face charges, including manufacturing and possession. One suspect, a felon, was arrested for having guns. Six others were detained but released at the scene.

CURTIN, Ore. — Detectives with the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) arrested two men Wednesday afternoon, August 13, following a search warrant execution in the Curtin area.
Authorities say detectives developed information indicating criminal activity at a property and obtained a warrant. Around 3 p.m., with assistance from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, officers entered the property and detained eight individuals.
A search revealed roughly 30 marijuana plants, 12 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and several firearms. According to DINT, none of the marijuana was being grown legally under Oregon law.
Arrests and Charges
- Jason Newman, 52, of Curtin - Cited and released for Unlawful Possession and Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana.
- Shaun Borg, 47, of Curtin - Arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Unlawful Manufacture of Marijuana, and four counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Borg, a convicted felon, is prohibited from having firearms.
Borg was lodged at the Douglas County Jail. All other individuals were released at the scene.
