Winter conditions have officially arrived at Diamond Lake Resort, following a significant overnight snowfall in the southern Oregon Cascades.

Resort officials report 12 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, measured at 7:30 a.m., bringing the total snow base to 23 inches at 5,200 feet elevation. The fresh accumulation marks one of the stronger early-season snow events this winter.

With conditions improving, the resort announced that its inner tube slide hill will open for night tubing starting tomorrow, January 9th, at 6 p.m. Crews are also actively grooming trails in preparation for snowmobiling as winter recreation ramps up around Diamond Lake.

Visitors planning to go tubing are reminded to purchase tickets online in advance at diamondlake.net, as availability may be limited during peak periods.

More winter recreation updates are expected as snowfall continues in the region.
