Douglas County Sees Significant Rainfall, Prompting Rising River Levels

The Roseburg Regional Airport gauge in Douglas County has recorded a total of 3.68 inches of rain over the past seven days. This substantial rainfall has caused rivers in the region to rise significantly, with some nearing their crest.

Continued rainfall could exacerbate the situation, increasing the risk of localized flooding.

A flood watch remains in effect until December 29th at 4PM of portions of southwest Oregon and northern California. This includes all valleys west of the Cascades and the cities of Roseburg, Medford, Cave Junction, Grants Pass, Coos Bay, Gold Beach, Yreka and Mount Shasta City.

So far this month, Roseburg has received 6.45 inches of rain.
