Five Arrested in Douglas County Online Sex Crimes Operation

Five people were arrested after Myrtle Creek and Winston police conducted a coordinated online sex crimes operation targeting suspected online predators. The day-long operation followed weeks of investigation and resulted in multiple felony charges.

Five Arrested in Douglas County Online Sex Crimes Operation

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — Five individuals were arrested Wednesday following a coordinated, day-long online sex crimes operation conducted by the Myrtle Creek and Winston Police Departments.

The operation took place on December 18, 2025, after weeks of investigative work in which officers identified suspected online predators both within Douglas County and from outside the area. Law enforcement officials say the operation focused on individuals believed to be attempting to exploit or communicate with minors online.

As a result of the operation, the following arrests were made:

  • William Joseph Manly, 44, of Grants Pass, was arrested on charges of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second Degree and Luring a Minor. Manly was also charged with a Parole Violation.
  • Joshua James Taylor, also of Grants Pass, was arrested for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second Degree and Luring a Minor.
  • Patrick William Terriah, 36, of Roseburg, was arrested and charged with Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the Second Degree and Luring a Minor.
  • Wyat Hugh Cahill, 24, of Klamath Falls, was arrested and charged with Luring a Minor.
  • David Carl Thorpe, 60, of Sutherlin, was arrested on charges of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First and Second Degree and Luring a Minor. During his arrest, officers also found Thorpe in possession of methamphetamine, resulting in an additional drug charge.

All five suspects were lodged at the Douglas County Jail on their respective charges.

The Myrtle Creek and Winston Police Departments credited the success of the operation to collaborative efforts and extended special thanks to the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety and the Klamath Falls Police Department for their assistance.

Authorities emphasize that investigations into online exploitation remain a priority and encourage parents and guardians to remain vigilant about online activity involving minors.
