January Happenings at Wildlife Safari

WINSTON, Ore. — A new year brings new experiences at Wildlife Safari, and January is packed with opportunities for local families and visitors to enjoy the park.

Wildlife Safari staff kicked off 2026 by thanking the community for its continued support, donations, and visits throughout the past year. As winter settles in, the park remains open and active, offering a unique chance to see animals from around the world in a quieter, seasonal setting.

Douglas County Appreciation Days

To show appreciation for local residents, Wildlife Safari is hosting Douglas County Appreciation Days on January 18 and 19. During those two days, Douglas County residents receive FREE drive-through admission with a valid ID. Visitors can enjoy the drive-thru route and see animals from across the globe, right here in their own county.

New Convenience for Visitors

Wildlife Safari is now officially available on DoorDash, allowing guests to enjoy favorites from the village menu at home. While the scenery may be different, the comfort food experience, including fresh cotton candy, is available year-round through delivery.

Camps and Seasonal Animal Updates

January also brings youth camps at the park:

  • Ages 7–9: January 10, 1–4 p.m.
  • Ages 10–12: January 11, 1–4 p.m.
    Advance online registration is required.

Seasonal animal routines are underway as well. Bears are currently in hibernation, while giraffes can be spotted spending time in their heated barn area, often peeking out to greet guests.
