DFPA DECREASES PUBLIC USE RESTRICTIONS TO HIGH
KQEN News Radio

With predicted decreases in temperatures, increases in relative humidity, and greater overnight moisture recovery, the Douglas Forest Protective Association has lowered the Public Use Restriction levels to High, effective Friday.
This is for all private, county, state and Bureau of Indian Affairs lands within the Douglas District.
DFPA Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said for the public this means that non-industrial use of power saws, metal cutting, grinding, or welding, and cutting, trimming or mowing of dried, cured grass, as well as the use of power-driven machinery for non-industrial improvement or development on private property, is now only permitted before 10:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m.
Pope said residents should remember that fire season is still underway and that fire danger remains. The expected rain throughout the weekend will not reduce the fire risk or end fire season.
Complete information on fire season restrictions is available at www.dfpa.net
13 OREGON COMMUNITIES GETTING CVS PHARMACIES, NOT ROSEBURG
KQEN News Radio

Thirteen Oregon communities are getting CVS pharmacies by the end of September, but Roseburg is not one of them.
CVS Pharmacy spokesperson Amy Thibault told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that the chain is planning to purchase and convert former Rite-Aid stores in Aloha, Ashland, Beaverton, Bend, Clackamas, Corvallis, Eugene, Grants Pass, Lake Oswego, Prineville, Redmond, Springfield and Tigard. Thibault said the company did not acquire any assets of the Roseburg Rite Aid location on Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.
After filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May for the second time in two years, Rite Aid announced plans to close nearly all its stores across the country. CVS Pharmacy has over 9,000 locations across the United States, making it the largest retail pharmacy chain in the country.
Roseburg now has three vacant former Rite Aid locations. Along with the property on Garden Valley Boulevard, there are two empty buildings in downtown Roseburg that used to house a Rite Aid store.
