Today's Fire Weather Forecast

Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California
National Weather Service Medford, OR
324 AM PDT Fri Aug 29 2025

Breezy to gusty winds and low relative humidity in the afternoons and early evenings through Monday in portions of Fire zones 616, 617, 622, 624, 625, 281, 284 and 285

DISCUSSION: Breezy to gusty winds and low humidities are expected in the afternoons and early evenings through Monday, especially east of the Cascades and in the Shasta Valley, but also affecting valleys west of the Cascades at times. A low offshore is bringing weak mid level moisture into the area, which combined with daytime instability, will bring cumulus build ups and low chance (10%) for isolated showers or thunderstorms for the Cascades east today. This pattern continues into the weekend, but trends weaker, with mainly just afternoon cumulus clouds expected. High pressure builds next week with temperatures trending hotter. Then, the potential for thunderstorms increases Tuesday as models show a weak disturbance moving into the area.
