UPTD ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW GENERAL MANAGER
KQEN News Radio

The Umpqua Public Transportation District has announced that Sheri Bleau has been appointed as the agency’s new general manager and chief financial officer.
An UPTD release said their board of directors made the appointment on Monday, November 17th during its regular board meeting in Executive Session, with the appointment finalized upon return to open session.
Bleau brings more than 34 years of experience in administration, accounting, human resources, and public service, including her recent role as finance manager at UPTD.
The release said during her tenure at UPTD, Bleau has played a central role in overseeing the district’s financial operations, including budgeting, grant management, payroll, compliance and audit preparation. She has served as the primary liaison to state and local auditors, helping to ensure full fiscal compliance with federal and state regulations. Bleau also led and mentored staff, strengthened internal controls and regularly presented financial health assessments to the board.
Bleau also brings 13 years of federal government service, including her work with the Department of Veteran Affairs, where she developed expertise in navigating complex regulatory systems, leading multi-functional teams, and upholding a strong culture of public accountability.
Bleau said, “I am passionate about UPTD’s mission and the essential services it provides to our rural community”. Bleau said, “I believe in innovation through collaboration, fiscal stewardship, and transparent leadership. I am particularly motivated to expand and enhance UPTD’s services to meet the evolving needs of our region while maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency our riders depend on”.
A statement from the board of directors said, “Sheri’s extensive experience, institutional knowledge, and unwavering dedication to public service make her the right choice to guide the District forward. We look forward to working with her as she assumes this critical role”.
Bleau began serving as UPTD General Manager/CFO effective Thursday, November 20th. She replaces Ben Edtl who resigned as agency leader in August, after serving in the position for less than a year.

WINSTON DOMINO’S PIZZA DONATES $1,000 AND CANNED GOODS TO FOOD BANK
KQEN News Radio

Domino’s Pizza in Winston donated $1,000 to the Winston-Dillard Food Bank along with canned goods collected during their meet-the-owner night on Monday.
A company release said the store donated 50 percent of sales from each order that evening between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
New franchise owner Angelique Martinez said, “We are so pleased to have held this fundraising opportunity and know that our efforts are helping our neighbors”. Martinez said, “I am beyond grateful to everyone we connected with Monday night, my team and I met so many generous and amazing people from the community and we look forward to serving you”.
As food insecurity continues to impact communities across the U.S., Martinez said that she and her team wanted to support their local community and provide for families in need. Martinez said, “I genuinely love this area and want people to know that we are here to support our community and serve delicious food made with love”.
The release said Martinez began her journey with the Domino’s brand in 2016 as a single mother commuting to work by bicycle. After advancing within the brand, Martinez, a local Roseburg resident, now owns her first Domino’s store in Winston.
