Near critical conditions this afternoon/evening and Saturday due to gusty west to northwest winds and low daytime humidities east of the Cascades

An isolated shower/thunderstorm is again possible this afternoon over southern and eastern Lake County, then thunderstorm chances drop out of the forecast for the weekend. Gusty west to northwest afternoon/evening winds will persist through the weekend. These winds combined with low daytime humidities will result in near critical conditions today and Saturday for areas east of the Cascades. The pattern transitions Tuesday with low pressure developing offshore of California and thunderstorms possibly returning to the forecast for much of next week.
