DESPAIN ENDORSES SIGNATURE GATHERING EFFORT

KQEN News Radio

Last week, Republican candidate Congress in Oregon’s Fourth District, Monique DeSpain announced her unequivocal support and full endorsement of the effort to refer the state transportation tax and fees increases to the November 2026 ballot.

DeSpain said, “It’s time to give Oregonians their voices back”. DeSpain said, “I wholeheartedly support the grassroots effort to collect signatures and put these harmful tax and fee increases rammed through by Oregon’s out-of-touch elected officials on the ballot”.  DeSpain’s release said, “Voters should have the final say. As the cost of living continues to rise, our wasteful and incompetent state government keeps taking and wasting more from hardworking Oregonians while delivering less each year”.

DeSpain was critical of incumbent Congresswoman Val Hoyle regarding the issue. DeSpain said, “…Hoyle’s silence on these tax and fee increases hitting her own constituents is deafening”.

DeSpain said she is signing the petition and urges every Oregonian, “..who’s had enough…” to do the same.

Lease Purchase and Project Listings Hint at Tractor Supply Plans in Roseburg

The Roseburg Receiver

According to online sources, Tractor Supply Company has taken a major step toward opening a Roseburg location after purchasing the former Big Lots lease at 1350 NE Stephens Street in May of 2025. The Roseburg property was part of a larger acquisition in which Tractor Supply bought 18 Big Lots store leases across 15 states.

The list of locations acquired includes stores in Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Georgia, Idaho, New Mexico, Texas, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and two sites in Oregon. One of those Oregon sites is in Klamath Falls, and the other is here in Roseburg. A spokesperson for the company said the selected locations offer an ideal footprint, favorable lease terms, and strong positioning in both established and growing trade areas.

In addition to the lease purchase, construction bid documents and commercial project listings now reference a “Tractor Supply – Roseburg” mercantile space renovation. These listings typically appear shortly before interior buildouts begin, which suggests work may be moving forward at the NE Stephens site.

Despite these developments, Tractor Supply has not yet made a formal announcement about a Roseburg store. The company has not released an opening date, and the location does not yet appear on the official Tractor Supply store locator. Until that announcement is made, the project remains in the early stages of public visibility.

The addition of a Tractor Supply in Roseburg would expand the company’s presence in Douglas County, which currently includes nearby stores in Sutherlin and Myrtle Creek. With the lease secured and renovation documents circulating, more information is expected as the project progresses.
