SUTHERLIN POLICE JAIL MAN FOLLOWING STALKING ORDER VIOLATON INVESTIGATION
KQEN News Radio

Sutherlin Police have jailed a man following a stalking order violation investigation held in cooperation with the Portland Police Bureau.
An SPD report said that 36-year-old Tyler Wolford was served a stalking order on February 25th issued by Multnomah County Circuit Court. The order protects a victim and is still active. SPD has arrested Wolford several times as recently as July for violations of the stalking order.
The report said Wolford has allegedly continued to violate the stalking order. The investigation by PPB has led to probable cause being developed on 116 separate counts of violating the order. This included substantiating information related to previous arrests by SPD.
Wolford was detained by SPD and booked into the Douglas County Jail on Monday. He is being held on eight counts related to reportedly violating the court stalking protection order. Bail was set at $45,000.

UCAN WILL OPERATE ROSEBURG WARMING CENTER FOR THIRD YEAR
KQEN News Radio

As temperatures drop, staff with the United Community Action Network are preparing to operate the Roseburg Warming Center again this winter for the third consecutive year.
A UCAN release said it will provide a warm, safe place for community members in need.
This life-saving service is made possible through the generosity and collaboration of local partners, including St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the Housing Authority of Douglas County, and the City of Roseburg, whose support and coordination help ensure that the Warming Center can operate each winter.
The primary location of the Roseburg Warming Center will be the St. Joseph’s School Gymnasium, located at 630 West Stanton Street. If St. Joseph’s has a prearranged event or activity on a night requiring an activation, the backup location will be HADCO’s James D. Myer Activity Center, which is nearby at 900 West Stanton Street.
The Warming Center will operate on limited days, openly only when the forecast low temperature is 30 degrees or colder, or when the weather is inclement and nighttime lows are 32 degrees or colder. On activation nights, the Warming Center will open its doors for check-in at 5:30 p.m. and close the following morning at 8:00 a.m.
UCAN CEO Jordan Jungwirth said, “The Roseburg Warming Center is a testament to what we can achieve when our community works together”. Jungwirth said, “We rely on compassionate volunteers, dedicated staff and the generosity of partners like St. Joseph Church and HADCO to open their doors at times that matter most”.
Last winter, UCAN opened the Roseburg Warming Center for 18 nights throughout December, January and February. During that time, more than 100 people utilized the warming center where they were served a hot meal and given a safe place to rest.
UCAN is actively seeking volunteers at this time and will orientations on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and again on November 12th, 17th, and 20th at 5:30 p.m. They will be held at UCAN’s Garden Valley Service Center and will last for about 90 minutes. Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights Returns for 32nd Year
The Roseburg Receiver

A beloved Douglas County holiday tradition is set to shine once again as the 32nd annual Umpqua Valley Festival of Lights opens Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, at River Forks Park. The drive-through light display will run nightly through Jan. 1, 2026, beginning each evening at 5:30 p.m.
Launched by the Roseburg Rotary Club in 1993, the festival has grown to feature over half a million lights and more than 90 displays, drawing roughly 25,000 visitors each year and generating thousands of dollars for Rotary scholarships and community service projects.
For $10 per car, visitors can enjoy the attractions that have made the event famous, including the World’s Largest Nutcracker and the Dutch Bros Holiday Village, which returns to its original location at River Forks Park.
Admission to the light display also includes free entry to the Dutch Bros Holiday Village inside Helleck Hall, open Dec. 5 through Jan. 1 on Thursdays through Sundays, with an extra night on Wednesday, Dec. 24.
The Holiday Village will feature Santa Claus, the Dancing Lights display, an updated model railroad, and decorated Christmas trees. Families can write letters to Santa and enjoy hot chocolate, cider, and treats in a cozy, festive setting.
Several sponsor-supported free nights are also planned, giving thousands of visitors the chance to enjoy the experience at no cost.

Stewart Park “Green Bridge” Reopens - and It’s No Longer Green
The Roseburg Receiver

The Stewart Park Drive Bridge, long known to locals as the “Green Bridge,” has officially reopened to vehicle traffic after months of rehabilitation work — though drivers may notice it’s not so green anymore.
The bridge, which spans the South Umpqua River, was closed to vehicles on February 10 for extensive repairs, repainting, and safety upgrades led by the City of Roseburg Public Works Department. Throughout the project, it remained open to pedestrians and bicyclists.
Crews completed structural maintenance, deck rehabilitation, and a full repainting, replacing the bridge’s iconic green color with a black finish designed for improved durability and corrosion resistance.
The reopening restores a key route between Stewart Parkway and the south entrance of the Roseburg VA Medical Center, easing detours and improving access through Stewart Park.
For more information, contact the Roseburg Public Works Department at 541-492-6730 or email pwd@roseburgor.gov.
