Thursday’s high temperature at the Roseburg Regional Airport was 76 degrees.

TRANSIENT JAILED FOR SCHOOL TRESPASSING INCIDENT

KQEN News Radio

A transient was jailed for a school trespassing incident on Wednesday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said shortly after 2:35 p.m. one former law enforcement officer and a current reserve officer observed the 39-year-old running around on the property of Glide Elementary School in the 1400 block of Glide Loop Drive. The suspect allegedly had what appeared to be a knife in his possession.

A deputy was unable to locate the weapon when the man was contacted. He was charged with second-degree trespass and detained without bail. The man was released on Thursday.

STEWART PARKWAY ROADWORK CONTINUES THROUGH OCTOBER

KQEN News Radio

Roadwork and sidewalk ramp replacements continue on Northwest Stewart Parkway in Roseburg through October 20th.

A city release said heavy daytime traffic and delays should be expected. Drivers and pedestrians are asked to watch for lane-closure signs and use caution when traveling through work zones. Sidewalks will be closed when ramps are being replaced. Pedestrians will need to use alternate routes and follow temporary signage.

Paving on Stewart Parkway and Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard will take place overnight in mid-to-late October. Businesses will remain accessible, and their driveways will remain open throughout the project.

The Roseburg Public Works Department hired Guido Construction to replace 25 sidewalk or curb ramps and repave and restripe the roadway. New striping on Stewart Parkway will allow for a wider bike lane.
