Multi Jurisdictional Training Exercise Planned in Downtown Roseburg

ROSEBURG, Ore. — The Roseburg Fire Department, in coordination with Douglas County Emergency Management and local, state, and regional agencies, will conduct a multi jurisdictional training exercise in downtown Roseburg on February 10, 2026.

The exercise will simulate a train car hazardous materials incident and is intended to improve inter agency coordination, emergency response capabilities, and public safety preparedness. The drill will provide realistic, hands on training for first responders in a controlled environment involving a complex, multi agency hazmat scenario.

Residents and visitors may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles, personnel in protective gear, and simulated emergency response activity during the training period.

Officials emphasize that this is only a training exercise. There is no real emergency and no hazardous materials threat to the public.

Community members are asked to:

• Be aware of the exercise and not be alarmed by emergency activity
• Avoid the immediate training area if possible
• Refrain from calling 9 1 1 regarding the simulated event unless there is a real emergency

The City of Roseburg Fire Department thanked the community for its understanding and cooperation as agencies work together to strengthen emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
