MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. — Police are investigating a robbery that was reported outside Columbia Bank, formerly Umpqua Bank, on Northwest Pleasant Street Sunday evening.
Detective Kevin Taggert with the Myrtle Creek Police Department said that just after 8:45 p.m., officers and deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
A man in the drive-through told police he was dropping off a deposit for his workplace when two individuals approached his vehicle and demanded money. The victim reported that one of the suspects threatened to shoot him. The men then took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.
Law enforcement deployed additional resources in response. DCSO used a drone, while the Roseburg Police Department assisted with a K-9 team. Despite those efforts, the suspects were not located.
Taggert said both men were wearing hooded sweatshirts and masks at the time of the robbery. Evidence collected at the scene is being processed, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Myrtle Creek Police Department at 440-4471.
