NLRB Dismisses Union Complaints Against Bigfoot Beverages, Company Says
Bigfoot Beverages says the NLRB dismissed seven unfair labor practice charges filed by Teamsters Locals 206 and 324, calling them lacking in merit. The strike began Sept. 19, 2024, and continues as the labor dispute remains unresolved.
Bigfoot Beverages says the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has dismissed multiple complaints filed against the company by Teamsters union locals involved in an ongoing labor dispute.
In a statement dated Jan. 14, 2026, Bigfoot said it received a decision from the NLRB’s Seattle office finding that seven alleged unfair labor practice charges filed by Teamsters Locals 206 and 324 “lacked merit” and were dismissed.
According to Bigfoot, the NLRB determined the company lawfully withdrew recognition from the unions after verifying signatures from employees seeking to decertify union representation.
The dispute dates back to September 2024, when union members went on strike after contract negotiations stalled. The strike began Sept. 19, 2024, with union representatives criticizing Bigfoot’s efforts to move employees away from a retirement pension plan and into a 401(k) style plan, which the union described as riskier and more costly.
Bigfoot said it spent an extended period bargaining with union leadership and presented what it described as a “last, best, and final” proposal. The company claims union leaders did not allow members to vote on that offer.
Bigfoot said its proposal included wage increases averaging $3 to $6 more per hour, an enhanced 401(k) plan with an automatic 9% employer contribution, and a $2,500 ratification bonus for the bargaining unit. Bigfoot also said it offered to grandfather current union members into the existing Teamsters pension plan, but said the offer was rejected without a membership vote.
The company said that 15 months after the strike began, employees are earning at least $10,000 more per year and are participating in the enhanced 401(k) plan with the 9% employer contribution.
In its statement, Bigfoot thanked business partners for their patience during the NLRB review and said it remains committed to serving customers and the community.
