Roseburg saw its wettest March day ever, with 3.47 inches of rain Sunday, surpassing the 2012 record of 2.29 inches. March 16 also set a new daily record, beating an 88-year-old high. With over half the month left, this March is already the third-wettest in history.

ROSEBURG, Ore. – Sunday brought record-breaking rainfall to Roseburg, making it the wettest March day in the city’s history.

According to the National Weather Service in Medford, the Roseburg Regional Airport recorded 3.47 inches of precipitation, shattering the previous single-day March record of 2.29 inches, set on March 12, 2012.

Additionally, March 16th set its own record, surpassing the previous high of 0.87 inches, which had stood since 1932.

With just over half the month complete, Roseburg has already seen 6.92 inches of rain for March, making it the third-wettest March on record. The wettest March occurred in 2012, when the city received 8.65 inches of rainfall.

Despite Sunday’s record, Roseburg’s all-time one-day precipitation record remains 4.35 inches, set on November 19, 1996.

With several weeks left in the month, it remains to be seen if March 2025 will climb higher in the rankings of Roseburg’s rainiest months.
