Roseburg Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash Near Dillard
A 65-year-old Roseburg man, David Knott, died Monday evening after a single-vehicle crash on Old Highway 99 South near Dillard. His vehicle left the road and bystanders attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

DILLARD, Ore. — A 65-year-old Roseburg man died Monday evening after a single-vehicle crash south of Roseburg.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 6 p.m. on Old Highway 99 South near Roseburg Forest Products in Dillard. Deputies said the vehicle, driven by David Knott, was traveling north when, for reasons not yet known, it left the roadway and entered a roadside ditch near the railroad tracks. The vehicle then came out of the ditch and stopped on a railroad track access road.
Bystanders began CPR until emergency crews arrived. Paramedics continued resuscitation efforts but Knott was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
