ROSEBURG, Ore. — A major water main replacement project is set to begin next week along Southeast Pine Street between Oak and Sykes avenues, according to the City of Roseburg.

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 17, crews will replace about 2,600 feet of aging 6-inch water main installed in the 1930s with a new 8-inch line. The project also includes mid-block water main replacements on Southeast Mosher Avenue and Southeast Cass Avenue between Pine and Stephens streets.

The Roseburg Public Works Department has contracted with NorthCore USA of Albany to complete the project.

Work Schedule and Traffic Impacts

  • Sept. 17–24: Night work, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Sept. 29 onward: Day work, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Construction will take place in the righthand, southbound lane of SE Pine Street. During work hours, one lane will be closed to traffic through the construction zone.

Due to winter weather, the project may shut down temporarily and resume in the spring.

City Statement

“The City appreciates motorists’ understanding and patience throughout the project, and asks drivers to use caution when traveling through the work zone,” officials said in a release.
