Student Arrested After Knife Incident at Sutherlin High School
Police responded to Sutherlin High School on Nov. 12 after reports that a student brought a knife to campus. Staff had already detained the student and secured the weapon. The student was arrested and faces charges including attempted assault, menacing, stalking, and unlawful weapon use.
SUTHERLIN, Ore. — Police were called to Sutherlin High School on Wednesday after reports that a student had brought a knife onto campus, according to the Sutherlin Police Department.
Officers, along with the school’s Resource Officer, arrived shortly after noon on Nov. 12. By the time police got there, school staff had already detained the student and secured the weapon.
Following an investigation, the student was taken into custody and is now facing several charges, including two counts of attempted assault, menacing, stalking, and unlawful use of a weapon.
