Studio Arts Connection is opening soon in Roseburg at 1350 NE Stephens St. #10, next to Subway. Owner Sharon Bedford will offer watercolor, knitting, crochet, jewelry-making, and open studio time. First class is Feb. 4 with a Valentine card watercolor project.

Johnny Barrett of Troop 36 in Riddle has earned the rank of Eagle Scout after completing a 236 hour service project building benches for a local baseball field. Barrett plans to graduate in 2026 and is pursuing dual credit coursework in UCC’s Mechatronics program.

Wildlife Safari has completed a brand new lemur house in the free Walk Thru Safari. The larger, heated space includes big windows and can be divided for new introductions or maternity needs. The lemurs have returned to their updated island home.

Congress approves FY26 Interior Appropriations bill with changes to O&C timber revenue share for Oregon counties

Congress approved the FY26 Interior Appropriations Bill with language that AOCC says restores a 75% share of BLM O&C timber receipts for 18 western Oregon counties. The group says the change reverses a 1982 revision and could boost annual revenue by about 50%.
