WAID to Host Free Community Christmas Celebration on December 12
WAID will host the 2025 Free Community Christmas on Dec. 12 at the Winston Community Center, featuring Santa, live entertainment, contests, a cake walk, refreshments, and raffle prizes. The event is free for all, with donations still welcomed to support the celebration.
WINSTON, Ore. — Winston Area Independence Day (WAID) is bringing holiday cheer to the community once again with the 2025 Free Community Christmas, set for Thursday, December 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Winston Community Center.
The event traces its roots back nearly 19 years to the Friends of the Community Center. Over the past four years, WAID has proudly continued the tradition, transforming it into one of the most festive and inclusive holiday gatherings in the area. Admission remains completely free, offering families a joyous night without cost barriers.
This year’s celebration will feature a wide lineup of activities:
- Refreshments, including fresh cookies prepared by the Douglas High School Culinary Class
- Live entertainment
- Cake Walk
- Raffle prizes
- Holiday contests, including Santa’s Beard, Mrs. Claus’ Apron, and an Ugly Sweater competition
- A visit from Santa
Donations are still being accepted to help keep the event free for everyone. WAID welcomes contributions such as door prizes, raffle items, refreshments, gift cards, services, or monetary support.
