WILDLIFE SAFARI’S WILD LIGHTS BRINGS HOLIDAY MAGIC TO WINSTON
Wildlife Safari’s Wild Lights brings holiday magic to Winston with illuminated paths, animal encounters, hot cocoa, Santa visits, and the popular Candy Cane Caboose. With one weekend left, families still have time to enjoy this seasonal tradition.
Families from across Douglas County are once again gathering in Winston to experience the holiday season at Wildlife Safari during its annual Wild Lights event, a festive nighttime walk through the park filled with illuminated displays, seasonal activities, and animal encounters.
Wild Lights transforms Safari Village into a glowing holiday experience each December weekend. Visitors stroll at their own pace along light-lined paths, stopping to take in festive displays, seasonal decor, and glimpses of animals along the route, including cheetahs and monkeys near the start of the walk.
Throughout the experience, families can warm up with hot cocoa, decorate gingerbread cookies, and visit the cafe, while kids have opportunities to meet Santa Claus along the way. One of the most popular attractions is the Candy Cane Caboose, a light-covered train ride that carries guests through part of the park, offering families a chance to sit together and enjoy the sights as part of the holiday tradition.
Santa’s Workshop adds another stop along the route, featuring one-of-a-kind gifts created by Wildlife Safari’s animal residents, as well as photo opportunities with Santa and one of the park’s Animal Ambassadors.
Wild Lights runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on December 5–7, 12–14, 19–21, and 26–28, rain or shine. Event tickets are required, as drive-through tickets do not grant access to Wild Lights.
Tickets include hot cocoa and cookies, animal appearances, unlimited rides on the Candy Cane Caboose, and a photo opportunity with Santa and an Animal Ambassador.
The Roseburg Receiver and The Roseburg Plug attended Wild Lights on Sunday, December 21, capturing the festive atmosphere as the event heads into its final weekend of the season. With just one weekend remaining, families still have one more opportunity to experience this holiday tradition and make memories under the lights.
