Winston Man Arrested After Attempted Elude Early Thursday Morning

A Winston man was arrested early Thursday after allegedly attempting to elude police during a traffic stop. Officers pursued the vehicle from Main Street and Brosi Orchard Road to Highway 42 and Brockway Road before taking the driver into custody.

WINSTON, Ore. — Winston police arrested a man early Thursday morning following a brief vehicle pursuit, according to the Winston Police Department.

Police said an officer attempted to stop a speeding vehicle at about 1:05 a.m. Jan. 8. The driver did not yield, and a pursuit followed from the area of Main Street and Brosi Orchard Road to Highway 42 and Brockway Road.

The driver, identified as 51 year old Aaron Moxley, was taken into custody after officers broke the driver side window and removed him from the vehicle.

Moxley was lodged at the Douglas County Jail on charges of attempting to elude a police officer and resisting arrest.
